THE HIRING COMPANY:
Real Equity Management is a property management firm, with a portfolio of assets centered around both commercial and residential real estate. Their primary focus, however, is in market-rate and student, multi-family communities. To date, they oversee leasing efforts for over 3,500 beds in Missouri alone, in addition to properties in both Kentucky and Oklahoma. THE HUMAN RESOURCE SPECIALIST POSITION:
Our Human Resource Specialist will play an integral role within our organization and be a highly utilized resource to keep our employees happy! You will be responsible for running our new employee orientations, oversee our benefit administration process, help resolve and inform management of personnel issues that arise, as well as implementing new employee relations strategies. HUMAN RESOURCE SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide employees with a welcoming first-day experience by handling the new hire orientation process; collect required documents/paperwork, cover employee handbook and important company information, introductions to Manager and team and conduct new hire retention check-ins.
  • Responsible for the entire benefits administration process; assist with yearly benefit renewal process, answer employee questions, process benefit claims (unemployment, maternity leave, COBRA, etc.), evaluate benefit eligibility, and audit benefits for accuracy within our payroll system.
  • Create and implement employee relations and retention strategies; plan and coordinate company events/parties, track employee anniversaries and reward according to policies, solicit employees for reviews on social media, develop and present new ideas to retain and engage employees.
  • Help mitigate and resolve employee issues; act as a sounding board for employee related issues, communicate issues or important information to upper management as needed, provide managers and employees with advice on handling certain situations.
  • Process all terminations/resignations and carry out terminations as needed; advise management on termination situations, work with head of security to schedule and carry out, conduct exit interviews on resignations and inform/update parties involved on all employees terminated or resigning.
  • Responsible for policy implementation and administration; edit company handbook and work with attorneys and company owners on any policy changes or edits, mitigate issues and ensure compliance by adding/ changing policies, educate and inform employees of changes made. HUMAN RESOURCE SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelors degree in human resources or related field, preferred.
    • PHR or SHRM-CP certifications preferred
    • 2+ years' experience with benefits administration
    • 2+ years' working within a dedicated Human Resource role
    • Complete understanding of benefits and ACA guidelines
    • Experience processing benefit/unemployment claims
    • Involvement with yearly benefit negotiations
    • Attention to detail
    • Able to make informed, well judged decisions
    • Positive personality; enjoys working with people
