Job DescriptionJob Summary: Experienced CookAJ's Grindstone Restaurant & Bar is looking for an Experienced Cook. The cook plans, prepares, and cooks food items to ensure the highest quality service and experience for customers. They help keep the kitchen organized and running efficiently. They ensure proper food handling, sanitation and following food storage procedures.Duties/Responsibilities:

• Produce assigned hot and cold foods in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provide meals that consistently exceed our guests' expectations.
• Ensure that all food is appropriately displayed and visually appealing.
• Clean all work areas, equipment, and customer service areas on an ongoing basis.
• Use proper food handling, storage, and sanitation techniques always.Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Very good communication skills
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to set up a serving/action station.
  • Ability to understand and execute recipes and instructions in detail.Education and Experience:
    • Proven experience as cook
    • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
    • Experience in customer service
    • High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantagePhysical Requirements:
      • Ability to endure exposure to extreme temperatures; intense heat and freezing cold.
      • Ability to remain standing for entire length of shift.
      • Constant walking, bending, reaching and repetitive motions.
      • Ability to lift stock up to 50 pounds occasionally.
      • Restaurant environment- noise level may be moderate to high during busy times.
