Job Description:

Responsible for facilitating patient admissions, transfers, and bed placement. Utilize clinical expertise, process incoming requests for transfers, direct admissions, and consultations, assist with transport arrangements, recommend the level of care, facilitate nurse reports, and enter documentation into electronic systems. Apply clinical knowledge and strategic critical thinking skills for efficient bed management to triage and assign beds to internal and incoming patients based on the clinical picture and bed availability. Maintain open communication with healthcare organization facility House Managers and ER/ nursing units regarding patient admission and movement to expedite appropriate placement of patients in a timely manner Facilitate communication during system downtime by completing admission/referral forms, notification of clinical units of expected patient movement/bed assignments, and post-downtime system data entry Participate in process improvement initiatives. May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents. Required Qualifications Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days. Three (3) years of RN clinical experience Preferred Qualifications RN experience in ER or critical care environments. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
