Job Description:

We are seeking a very experienced Wildlife & Farm Manager to join our team! This manager will help lead and maintain the Wildlife Management program and general farm maintenance on large recreational properties in Missouri for hunting, fishing, and general outdoor use. This position will also help offer friendly service and improve hospitality for visiting guests. - About Us: This very unique property spans thousands of acres in west-central Missouri and is a true sportsman's paradise. Coal mining before reclamation had scarred much of this land, however over the last 30 years the habitat has been transformed into a haven for fish and wildlife. This property offers world-class Bass fishing on 25+ lakes, Boone & Crockett bucks are harvested annually, has great turkey hunting, and developed waterfowl projects that help to draw thousands of Mallards every fall. Come work for one of the leaders in conservation and manage a truly world-class recreational property! Basic Qualifications B.S. degree in wildlife biology or closely related field. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate four-wheel drive trucks, ATVs, haul trailers, operate tractors and implements, and experience running heavy equipment Must be able to maintain work hours that will serve the needs of the farm and guest needs. Some weekends, early mornings, and late nights are to be expected Must have management experience over a small team, time management skills, show initiative for detail and follow up Must be able to work with a team and independently in the field for extended periods of time. Ability to hike long distances, withstands cold/hot and windy conditions for long period, and be able to lift heavy items (more than 50 lbs.) if needed for field safety. There is recurring exposure to moderate risks and discomfort, such as adverse weather including high temperatures, extreme cold, noise, dust, and working near heavy equipment. Preferred Skills/Experience Strong knowledge of fisheries management, whitetail deer management, wetlands management Experience in project management, bidding out projects, managing contractors, ect. Previous experiences with farming, food plotting Proficiency in mapping and planning using Google Earth, maps, and GPS. Excellent verbal, and written communication skills General knowledge of state and federal wildlife & conservation issues Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) Strong organizational skills / Ability to prioritize work load / projects, to meet deadlines Ability to multi-task and be flexible regarding the work schedule in a fast-paced environment - - - - - - -Seeks out and nurtures collaborative relationships with community partners to advance conservation programs. - - - - - - -Must be a positive, effective team member and be able to establish professional working relationships. - - - - - - -Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information - - - - - - -Excellent problem solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions - Description Of Duties This is a full-time, field-oriented Fish & Wildlife Property Manager position located in west central Missouri. Working collaboratively with land-owners to develop annual property management plan. Responsible for leading a small team to carry out general maintenance, wildlife habitat projects, fisheries management, and guest hospitality on several properties in the area. - Team Management Working hours: 7:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday (early mornings, evenings and weekends as required) - - - - - - -Plan, organize, and assign work assignments for the day - - - - - -Monitor projects for quality and progress - - - - - -Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the team - - - - - -Work in a manner that promotes safety for yourself and others around you - - - - - -Maintain budget, records, and data - - - - - - -Ability to create schedules, set priorities, and understand goal setting. - General Property Maintenance - - - - - -Maintaining yards and landscaping around buildings and residences - - - - - -Housekeeping after groups leave - - - - - -Tree Care for orchards and planted trees - - - - - -Maintaining and building gravel roads - - - - - -Building Maintenance and up-keep - - - - - - -Repairing barbed wire fences and gates - - - - - - -Maintenance of various equipment including trucks, ATVs, swamp buggies, tractors & implements, generators, water pumps, trailers, mowers, chainsaws, weed-eaters, etc. - - - - - -Must be able to trouble-shoot equipment failure issues, perform periodic preventative maintenance, fabricate and repair equipment including minor motor repairs and small engine repairs - - - - - -Cleans, maintains, prepares, and supplies work areas. - - - - - -Get bids and manage contractors on construction projects - - - - - -Manage farm budget - Wildlife Management - - - - - -Prescribed burning, installing firebreaks, mowing and chemical and mechanical control of invasive plants. - - - - - -Manage relationship and contract with farmer - - - - - -Trail camera surveys - - - - - -Develop and plant hundreds of acres of food plots - - - - - -Annual maintenance of tree stands, blinds, decoys ect - - - - - -Prepares reports pertaining to wildlife findings, conclusions and recommendations. - - - - - -Wetlands Management - Water management, controlled draw downs, planting for waterfowl - Fisheries Management - - - - - -Work alongside fisheries management group to develop and carry out mgmt. plan - - - - - - -Forage stocking - - - - - - -Conduct surveys using electro-fishing equipment - - - - - - -Develop harvest guidelines, - - - - - -Fill fish feeders, - - - - - -Bait pond mgmt. - Hospitality - - - - - -Be a friendly host to groups using the properties - - - - - -Help guide hunters or fishers as needed - - - - - -On-call when groups are on property for help with tasks - - - - - -Requires working some weekends, early mornings, and late nights - - - - - -Coordinate guest engagement with conservation programs.
