Job Title: ASSISTANT TEACHING PROFESSOR Location: Columbia Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 27295 Job Description Assistant Teaching Professor: One non-tenure-track position starting August 20, 2018 or other mutually agreeable date. Commitment to excellence in teaching required. Ability and willingness to teach an array of courses in finance are necessary. This position is in the area of Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) and will be a member of the faculty of the Department of Finance and will report to the Chair of the department Director of Risk Management and Insurance Program: The Trulaske College of Business offers an undergraduate certificate in Risk Management and Insurance. The certificate requires a finance prerequisite, three RMI classes, and an RMI internship. The certificate is available to all students on campus. Specific responsibilities will include but not limited to: --- Overseeing the RMI curriculum, including possible development of new classes. --- Teaching classes in Risk Management and Insurance per year, typically, two per semester. --- Serving as faculty advisor to Gamma Iota Sigma, a national risk management professional fraternity. --- Providing service to the department, college, and university as assigned. The Director will also be expected to substantially enhance external relationships and industry partnerships. Within these duties, the Director will be tasked to raise private support with the goal of building a fiscally self-sustaining program, identify corporate internship and career placement opportunities for students, and interact, promote and recruit for the RMI industry as a whole.
