This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (8:00am - 4:30pm). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 1201 S. Grand Blvd . St . Louis , MO 63104 .

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage administrative intake of members
  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providers
  • Process incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles
  • Assist the clinical staff with setting up documents/triage cases for Clinical Coverage Review
  • Handle resolution/inquiries from mem Deliver Follow up IMM letters on medicare patients and document
  • Handle appeal process with Livanta (QIO) when patient appeals
  • Point person to for ground crew ambulance trips
  • Document ground crew trips in smartsheet daily
  • Send daily emails to nursing leaders regarding next day ambulance trips
  • Send monthly ground crew stats
  • Gather IMM audit reports monthly and add in medical records
  • Complete cyberaccess for medical patients on DME
  • Check voicemails throughout the day and distribute to staff
  • Check faxes and distribute to staff
  • Help with difficult referrals
    This is high volume, customer service environment. You'll need to be efficient, productive and thorough dealing with our members over the phone. You also must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evening hours.

    Required Qualifications:
    • High school diploma / GED (or higher)
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
    • 2+ years of customer service experience
    • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting.
    • Ability to answer phone calls, schedule appointments and work with medical insurance
    • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance.
