accountant is responsible for applying the principles of accounting
to prepare and analyze financial reports. This includes but is not
limited to: compiling and preparing general ledger entries,
preparing and distributing financial reports, assisting with
sales/use and excise tax reporting, reconciling multiple balance
sheet and income statement accounts, and preparing necessary
monthly and quarterly reports and year end auditor reports.
Position is also responsible for maintaining the accuracy of
company cash management process.RESPONSIBILITIES BY COMPETENCY: (*

Orientation*Assist in maintaining the accuracy of the accounting
data and safeguard company assets through timely reconciliation of
assigned accounts and resolution of outstanding items*Perform
regular inventory reconciliations through cycle counts at various
plants*Liaison to GRW operations for accounting functions*Assist
Accounting Coordinator with various tasks related to billing and
troubleshooting*Assess credit worthiness and credit limits for new
and existing customers*Maintain the accuracy of company bank
accounts through utilization of company cash management
process.*Prepare journal entries accurately as assigned by direct
supervisor*Assist with year-end paper work preparation for outside
auditors Assist continually in the improvement of processes and
procedures*Develop and support goals for the Lube divisions's
Balanced Score Card*Complete tasks within required timeframe*Ensure
timely and accurate information is produced and reports are updated
to meet company needs*Maintain regular attendance and follow
designated safety practices Perform other duties not listed as
requiredCommunication*Distribute weekly AR Hold report to Lube
sales team*Communicate any errors or omissions impacting bank
activity to Accounting Manager and Director of Finance*Communicate
in a professional and effective manner with internal and external
customers*Ensure effective communication is used through voice
mail, e-mail, etc.*Present a professional, positive, and friendly
attitude*Notify appropriate personnel of discrepancies and error
correctionsCustomer Service Orientation*Provide timely and accurate
response to accounting inquiries for internal and external
customers*Provide financial reports to the division management as
requested*Provide accurate information as requested by outside
auditors*Provide support to departments for their process
improvementsDeveloping Talent*Assist accounting staff with
reconciliation of accounts as needed*Provide guidance to others
within the accounting and finance department as needed Attend
company training classes to further knowledge of company goals
Attend training to further professional development according to
company guidelines*Complete safety training as required*Complete
cross training initiatives as assignedTechnical
Expertise*Understand the accounting software packages and use them
to full capacity*Develop working knowledge of account
reconciliations concepts*Develop working knowledge of Generally
Accepted Accounting Principles*Develop and maintain written job
procedures for position*Maintain working knowledge of smart safe
program and associated reconciliation process.*Maintain and update
company reports and systems as needed to meet company and division
needs*Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet
deadlines*Adhere to all Wallis Companies safety policies and report
all safety incidents to supervisor immediately.SUPERVISORY
